Hi Carrien, I finally answered your question about spent grain bread (sorry it took me so long -- I kept meaning to ask my husband about it and forgetting :).
However, the bad news is that I don't really know about the hulls :(
His beer comes in a kit, so whatever they give you is what I used. It was good!
